Ian Miller is a professional music director, pianist, and arranger based in New York City. A versatile musician, Ian draws upon classical piano training and an extensive background in musical theater, as well as a love of gospel, jazz and R&B.
Recently, Ian was the music director for Ma-Yi Theater Company’s off-Broadway run of Felix Starro, and a rehearsal pianist for the ongoing Broadway revival of West Side Story. As a collaborative pianist, Ian has worked with a number of organizations, including: the Yale School of Drama, the Story Pirates, the Young People’s Chorus of NYC, Vocal Ease, Joyful Voices NY, and the Nightingale-Bamford School. Additionally, he is the music director of “Our Broadway,” a musical theater program for adults with intellectual disabilities around NYC.
He is particularly passionate about collaborating with singers and vocal ensembles to bring out their best performance. Ian holds a BA in Music from Yale University, where he sang with the Shades of Yale and the Whiffenpoofs.

At times bold and energizing, at times intimate and contemplative, Ian’s music speaks to the range of what life brings and how the soul responds. In his writing and his performing, Ian is known for his vulnerability and honesty as he explores the joys and challenges of becoming who we are.
